    Bicycle production in Spain drops 8% in 2025

    The Spanish bicycle market is continuing to navigate a post-pandemic correction. As markets cool and consumer budgets tighten, Spain has again had to swallow a decrease in its bicycle production output. Spain closed 2025 with 286,100 units produced, at a production value of €233 million, according to official data published by the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism.

    WM-SE acquires German Fischer Bike parent MTS Group

    OSNABRÜCK, Germany - One of Europe's largest automotive parts distributors WM-SE has entered the e-bike market with the acquisition of Fischer Bike owner MTS Group. For a non-disclosed price, transport and logistics service provider DB Schenker Deutschland AG sold its successful subsidiary after an failed attempt to disinvest in 2018.

    Subscribers only EU-27 bicycle imports decline by 15% as Taiwan switches focus to e-bikes

    BRUSSELS, Belgium - In contrast to the e-bike imports into the European Union, the bicycle imports declined significantly during the period January - May this year. The total import volume dropped by more than 15% from 2,577,256 units in 2019 to 2,181,239 this year. Taiwan's focus on e-bikes has a big impact on the top-ranking positions of bicycle exporting countries to the European Union. In line with last year's trends, China's export volumes to the EU-27 continues to increase.

    EU Imports of Regular Bicycles from China Continue to Grow Rapidly

    BRUSSELS, Belgium - Already in 2017 the EU imports of regular bicycles from China showed a huge increase; by 54 percent to 635,000 units. Eurostat import data for the first half of 2018 shows that this vast growth continued.
