    Fundracer investment enables bicycle airbag market roll-out

    The micro-mobility investment fund Fundracer announced an undisclosed investment in Belgian startup Aerobag, which is pioneering ultra-lightweight, compact airbag technology designed specifically for cyclists. Aerobag set out with a clear and ambitious mission: to adapt proven airbag technology from the automotive industry into a form factor that works for cycling.

According to the company statement, BMW has "looked beyond our core business." Production is not part of the concept, that's left to others.

    French e-scooter sales outnumber e-bike market volume

    PARIS, France - More and more French people are using micro-mobility products such as e-scooters, hoverboards, etc. to commute. The total micro-mobility market registered an increase of 1.2% to 1,635,000 units in 2020, according to research conducted by the FP2M and Smart Mobility Lab. The turnover in the sector increased 7.1%, reaching €291.3 million. E-scooters led the way and even overtook e-bike sales.

    European e-scooter operators form coalition eyeing policy changes

    BRUSSELS, Belgium - Eight of Europe's main e-scooter operators, including Lime, Voi and Bolt, have joined forces to form a new coalition, Micro-Mobility for Europe (MMfE). The coalition aims to contribute to the development of a coherent policy framework for micromobility solutions.
