    KKR transfers control of Accell Group to secure funding and debt reduction

    Accell Group announced the next milestone in its transformation, with new funding and a substantial debt reduction. Under an agreement announced today with its key stakeholders, Accell Group will receive additional funding in exchange for shares. The existing majority shareholders transferred control of Accell Group to a new corporate structure.

    Campagnolo strengthens OEM focus as family invests to secure future 

    A drastic reorganisation during the current market disruption was unavoidable for Campagnolo. The Italian component manufacturer felt the urge to issue a statement this week, following months of wild speculation, including the suggestion of a large-scale lay-off. "Currently, the company is being reorganised, after the financial structure was defined together with all relevant stakeholders," writes Campagnolo. "The Campagnolo family is directly involved in this process and continues to invest an undisclosed amount in the project."

    Spar divests Hervis following restructuring and ongoing debt reduction

    The announcement that Austrian Spar sold its domestic sporting goods chain Hervis, including all 134 existing stores in Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Bavaria, marks a major shift in bicycle retail for Central Europe. The agreement, concluded this week, includes the transition of all employees. This move comes after the Austrian sporting goods retailer, which also sells a range of bicycle products, announced a "restructuring offensive."

    Is fresh funding the only thing that can save Accell Group?

    Fresh rumours are circulating that Accell Group has entered its second debt restructuring in little more than a year, and they're creating quite a stir in the market. Accell Group insiders reportedly told the Financial Times that new restructuring talks are being prepared, as revenues are lower than expected. Analysts recently wrote that the group's sales are expected to drop 15% in 2025, with a further 9% decline expected this year.

    Canyon cuts 320 jobs as it strives for €1bn revenue target

    Amid ongoing revenue slides and restructuring efforts to counter losses, Canyon Bicycles GmbH has announced large-scale job cuts. The German bicycle brand will cut 320 of its 1,600 employees, equivalent to 20% of its workforce.
