Swapfiets continued its path towards profitability in 2025, with the Amsterdam-based bicycle subscription company nearly halving its net loss while increasing revenue. CEO Marc de Vries says the company could reach profitability if the current trend continues.
Leading bike subscription company Swapfiets has further strengthened its position in the European market by acquiring Berlin-based e-bike subscription provider Dance.

AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - Despite still being in the negative, Swapfiets has reported significantly reduced losses last year. The Amsterdam-based company, and subsidiary of Pon Holdings, recorded a net loss of €14.2 million in 2024 — 14% less than the previous year.

Under the guidance of Pon Holding's investment company Ponooc since 2018, the company has grown to have over 270,000 members across Europe. Although, still striving for profitability, the B Corp-certified scale-up is working hard towards creating a 100% circular bicycle.

After a loss of €14 million in 2020 and €29 million in 2021, this increased to €31 million last year, the latest financial records show. Despite these losses, investor Pon continues to support the concept which had anticipated on growth across Europe.
