    German market anticipates on 20% sales increase in 2021

    BERLIN, Germany - Product availability will remain the biggest challenge for 2021. "Demand for e-bikes and bicycles continues to be bold while production capacities can't be adjusted so quickly to keep up with demand," said David Eisenberger representing the German industry association ZIV.

    German e-bike sales increase rapidly after shop re-openings

    COLOGNE, Germany - The opening of bicycle shops in Germany after the corona lock-down has resulted in a more than expected increase in sales. Particularly e-bikes are very popular now lock-down has ended as customer demand changes from leisure only to daily use. These initial results provoked ZEG CEO Georg Honkomp to state that, "if things go better again in the next few months, the 2020 sales decline as a result of corona will be limited."

    German Guideline on Replacement of E-Bike Components

    BAD SODEN, Germany - To provide an insight for retailers on what's permitted or not when exchanging CE approved 25 km/h e-bike components in their workshops, the German industry associations agreed on an uniform guideline. Though without a legal base this document could be pose an important standard for other European countries as well.
