Tektro's high-performance brand TRP is rapidly gaining recognition for its outstanding performance-driven components and advanced technology, which is central to the company's ongoing innovation and future growth.
Compatible and optimised ABS technology
The brand teamed up with e-bike systems leader Bosch in 2020 when Tektro’s braking systems were specifically designed and developed to be fully compatible and optimised for Bosch’s cutting-edge ABS technology. The first e-bikes equipped with Bosch ABS and Tektro brake components hit the market in late 2024. They were made available across all Bosch-powered e-bike categories, including eCity, eTrekking, eCargo, and eMTB.
Bosch’s smart ABS software paired with TRP’s braking hardware has been recognised for boosting safety by reducing the risk of falls and accidents – a big step forward in e-bike safety and braking tech. But this powerful partnership had only just begun…
New standards in shifting performance and integration
In 2019, Tektro launched its first derailleur and shifter, followed by the launch of its initial drivetrain ecosystem in early 2023. Having built a solid reputation in the area of technical expertise in parts and components for e-bikes, Bosch again turned to TRP to co-develop the next generation of automatic shifting systems for drivetrains.
After four years of dedicated development, TRP’s A12 E.A.S.I. drivetrain system was proudly unveiled at Eurobike in 2024. The A11 and A10 models followed at Eurobike 2025.

Advanced electronic drivetrains for safer, smarter riding
The TRP A12 E.A.S.I. drivetrain is built specifically for e-bikes with Bosch’s latest Performance Line CX & SX motors. It’s a high-performance, 12-speed electronic shifting system that automatically adjusts to the rider’s cadence, load, and speed. Unlike fully wireless electronic drivetrains, it uses cable-actuated electronic control for the derailleur. Its lightweight design includes cage release for easy wheel removal and a clutch to silence chain slap for quieter rides.
A standout feature is the Shift Mode Switch on the shifter, letting riders choose between manual and automatic shifting. In automatic mode, the system adapts to riding dynamics and includes Bosch-aligned functions like Auto-Downshift (downshifting when stopping) and Roll Shift (adapting gearing while coasting). Manual mode gives riders full control over gear changes. The drivetrain works with TRP’s durable 12-speed cassettes and has shifters suited for different e-bike styles — from ergonomic dropbar solutions (Hywire, Hywave and Hylex) for road and gravel to trigger shifters for mountain biking, many with wireless features.
Earning the market’s trust has been an exciting milestone for us, and it motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries”
TRP's A11 and A10 systems are extensions of the A12 E.A.S.I. electronic drivetrain and offer intelligent and adaptive automatic shifting. The models support 11-speed (A11) and 10-speed (A10) drivetrains, bringing automatic shifting to more e-bike categories beyond the 12-speed A12. These systems integrate TRP’s high-quality hardware with Bosch’s advanced software for smooth, precise, and responsive gear changes.
This synergy gives riders confidence, improved safety, and great performance across all kinds of riding conditions by combining e-bike drivetrain and braking systems. The integration of TRP parts not only optimises power and control but also puts rider safety first with reliable braking and smooth shifting. Backed by excellent mechanical design and a passionate team, TRP’s A12, A11, and A10 systems are some of the most versatile, rider-focused, and safety-driven e-bike drivetrains you’ll find.

Continuing to push boundaries
“We are truly proud of what we have achieved together so far,” says Silvan Schäfer, marketing coordinator Europe at Tektro. “Earning the market’s trust has been an exciting milestone for us, and it motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries.”
Looking to the future, Schäfer continues: “This collaboration is a perfect example of what can happen when two innovative companies join forces, combining expertise and passion to deliver next-level cycling technology. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Bosch to drive innovation, set new industry standards, and leave a lasting legacy that shapes the future of e-mobility.”
Boosting riding comfort and flow, this smarter gear shifting allows riders to fully immerse themselves in every ride with freedom and confidence. The result: a superior, safer riding experience.
