BRUSSELS, Belgium - Despite the supply chain problems, all signs are still on green for the bicycle industry. The industry confederation CONEBI, reports record sales levels for e-bike and bicycles in their annual European Bicycle Industry and Market Profile.

TALLINN, Estonia - The co-founder of IoT provider Comodule, Kristjan Maruste is the CEO of the newly founded sustainable e-scooter startup Äike. In partnership both companies developed the first model Äike T e-scooter with the aim to manufacture and assemble it entirely in Europe using solely renewable energy.

BIG FLATS, USA NY - Stan and Cindy Koziatek, co-founders of Stan's NoTubes and creators of the original tubeless tire sealant for bicycles, have announced their retirement from the business. Longtime partner in the brand's growth, Mike Bush, will continue as president and CEO, with support from Stan's NoTubes' new partners, Zabel Companies.

ZOETERMEER, the Netherlands - Manufacturers and importers of e-bike batteries are now obliged to contribute to the collection and processing system for bicycle batteries. More than 150 companies which are members of the EPAC Foundation already meet these requirements. Since 1 July 2022 these conditions are generally binding.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - The European Commission has a role to play in formulating cycling policy. This was acknowledged by the Executive VP of the European Commission Frans Timmermans. "We must support more and new measures to grow cycling in Europe," he said.

HELSINKI, Finland - The market has seen a surge in cargo bike manufacturers in the past few years, each taking their own approach. Finnish start-up Ouca claims to have built-up a new concept for cargo bikes from scratch. "We have abandoned traditional bicycle parts in all the critical places," says Ouca founder Tuomas Alapuranen.

DENKENDORF, Germany - At Eurobike gearbox specialists Pinion will launch the next generation e-bike drive gearbox together with introduction partner Stromer. In line with the current trend and as long time discussed in the industry, we expected that Pinion will present it first electronically shifting gearbox.
