Insights from the last few years of CIE surveys show a sector transitioning from cautious optimism to a more tangible stabilisation.

TAIPEI, Taiwan - London-based design and marketing consultancy Conductor has announced its expansion into Asia with the opening of its second location in Taipei, Taiwan. Conductor has made a name for itself in the biking industry for its work with big brand names like Specialized, Canyon and Classified - as well as its recent acquisition by Gruppo Media.

WEXFORD, Ireland - Irish Customs Authorities have announced the seizure of over 4,000 e-bikes and a handful of e-scooters following targeted searches at two different warehouses in Ireland. According to authorities, the e-mobility vehicles - worth an estimated €4.5 million in retail value - were illegally imported to the European Union.

STAVENGER, Norway - Podbike, the four-wheeled e-bike manufacturer, has announced its bankruptcy filing, citing an "extended period of financial constraints." The Norwegian company had previously capitalised on a niche in the e-bike market with its four-wheeled, human-powered e-bike that encased the driver in a small pod.

LONG BEACH, United States - Amid an increasingly volatile trade industry, independent testing and certification body ACT Lab has launched a global pricing initiative to support bicycle and e-mobility manufacturers in maintaining safe and compliant products. The "Tariff Reduction ACT" applies to mechanical and chemical testing services in bundled packages to help companies navigating the frequently shifting trade policies and disruptions in the supply chain.

BERLIN, Germany - A new battery-swapping service and matching e-bike fleet will soon be debuting on the streets of Amsterdam and Berlin, according to a press release by Enyring. The Yamaha subsidiary, established in December 2023, aims to be one of the first to introduce a battery-swapping service in Europe - and it's adding its own e-bike fleet to complement the service.

GIRONA, Spain - Tech start-up Niche Mobility has secured €1.6 million in funding to power the next development stages of its patented ADTS electric motor for e-bikes. In March, the Spanish company closed its successful investment round, led by strategic partner Copreci and supported by the Mondragon Promotion Fund and regional investors.

SCHIPHOL-RIJK, the Netherlands - Yamaha Motor Europe has unveiled its new e-bike systems service platform, aiming to strengthen aftersales support for dealers of Yamaha drive units and systems-equipped e-bikes. Following a trial phase initiated in February 2025, the platform is now up and running for all official dealers across France.

ZURICH, Switzerland - Following successful trials in Zurich, Atlanta and Seattle, Lime is readying its release of a new e-bike to European and North American city streets. The micromobility rideshare company has capitalised on the idea of grab-and-go transport for years with its fleet of e-scooters and e-bikes, and currently boasts a history of more than 750 million rides across hundreds of cities worldwide.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - E-bike manufacturer Cowboy has announced a voluntary recall of its C4 ST (Edition MR) model due to a potential safety issue involving the bike's frame. The Brussels-based company discovered during quality testing that the bike is at risk of developing fatigue cracks at the weld joint between the headtube and the downtube after approximately 2,500 kilometres of use.
