    FTA with EU to drive India's bicycle exports to €100 million by 2029

    The Indian bicycle industry seems upbeat with the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the European Union and the Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) with the United States. Both are regarded as key emerging markets for bicycle exporters, as observed at the recently concluded Ride India Expo 2026 held at the Ludhiana Exhibition Centre in India.

    BSH Ventures reports delivery to Europe came to standstill

    COLOMBO, Sri Lanka - Sri Lankan bicycle manufacturer BSH Ventures Pvt Ltd reports that it is only partially operational due to the current market conditions. The export-oriented site which was set-up to cater for the high-end bike market of Europe is presently being forced to serve the domestic market in order to remain operational.

    India Cycle Show emerges as CFOSE defers in light of industry slowdown

    NEW DELHI, India - The Indian bicycle industry's quest for a global bicycle show may soon be realized as a new show has emerged on the horizon with all the signs of making it big in the future. The country's existing show, CFOSE which has been established over 14 editions appears to be making way for a new 'government-backed' event on India's bicycle event calendar.

    Bangladesh's Panam Cycle invests $8 million to increase capacity

    DHAKA, Bangladesh - Known as a manufacturer of textiles, garments, lingerie and chemicals, Panam Group diversified into the production of bicycles a year ago. The company is keen to expand into newer sectors and found bicycle production and its exports a potential area thanks to the favourable duty structure for Bangladesh-based bicycle exporters to the European Union (EU).

    Hero Electric dealers seeking settlement of pending dues

    Alpha Carbon Frame Technology invests in doubling capacity

    DHAKA, Bangladesh - A growing number of suppliers of bicycles and various components to the European market have recently invested in production in Bangladesh. The country is already home to a few key global bicycle joint ventures. Now other Asian suppliers to Europe are also investing into production facilities considering low cost of production like low labor costs and duty exemptions for exports to Europe.

    India's Metro Tyres doubles bicycle tyre export capacity

    NEW DEHLI, India - Metro Tyres Limited is gearing-up to further expand the footprint of its house brand 'Ortem' in the European and US market. The Indian bicycle tyre manufacturer with production sites in Ludhiana has invested in doubling the tyre and tube production capacity of its export-oriented facility to also further expand into the private label business.

    Indian bicycle industry designing electric portfolio for global market

    LUDHIANA, India - The shift towards increasing automation in bicycle manufacturing, graduating towards high-end components and the return of major OEMs like Avon Cycles & TI Cycles all marked the recently concluded CFOSE 2024 (Cycle, Fitness & Outdoor Sports Expo). Held from 1-3 February in Ludhiana, India, and with a greater focus on e-bikes, the show highlighted Indian company's urge to spread their footprints globally.

    Belgian Cycling Factory contracts 50,000 e-bikes from Hero Motor Company

    LUDHIANA, India - Indian bicycle OEM HMC Hive, a Hero Motor Company, has forayed into contract manufacturing with the signing of a €33 million partnership contract with Ridley and Eddy Merckx owner Belgian Cycling Factory (BCF). Under the contract, the HMC will supply 50,000 bikes and components for BCF over the next three years.
