FRANKFURT, Germany - Despite reports of ongoing high inventories in the market, German trade organisation, ZIV, presented an optimistic outlook during a market update on the day before Eurobike fully kicks off in Frankfurt. PARIS, France - The e-cargo market is one of the fastest growing segments in France. In 2020, sales rose by 350% to 11,000 units, according to the French Cycle Observatory. Even though France lags way behind Germany where 78,000 units have been sold, it could quickly catch up according to the forecasts of the Union Sport & Cycle, which predicts that the French market could reach 50,000 units in the next few years... that is, if supply allows.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - E-bike sales continue to rise across Scandinavia prompting brands to look at their positioning on the market. Just this week two brands, the Dutch Gazelle, part of the Pon Group, and Swedish Ecoride with strong representation across the region, opened new experience centres to showcase their e-bike ranges.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Already in 2017 the EU imports of regular bicycles from China showed a huge increase; by 54 percent to 635,000 units. Eurostat import data for the first half of 2018 shows that this vast growth continued.

For the second consecutive year the production of bicycles in Europe increased substantially. In 2015 the total output was 13,149,000 units, up 10.14% from 2014.
