Taizo Shimano已加入Shimano Europe的董事會，他是公司頂尖技術人員Keizo Shimano之子。Keizo Shimano為雙控變速剎車(Dual Control)的發明者，但很遺憾地英年早逝。Taizo Shimano的新角色也讓他距離成為世界上規模最大的自行車零部件製造商總裁這個注定的職位更近一步。

捷克，Dolni Dobrouc－天津Golden Wheel Bicycle Group Co. Ltd (金輪集團)近期宣佈投資一千萬歐元於捷克設新廠，該座工廠是為提高電動自行車的年產量至18萬輛。該公司於九月時已有拓展旗下Totem電動自行車品牌的生產。

荷蘭，阿姆斯特丹（Amsterdam）－Pon Bike於昨日正式收購Urban Arrow，這個位於阿姆斯特丹的荷蘭電動載貨自行車品牌在近幾年飛躍式成長，甚至他們售價達5000歐元的親子系列高價車款（電動兒童運輸自行車）在荷蘭各城市都變得常見。

越南，Ben Cat Town－兩間中國廠商HL Corp.和TTium投資的公司Motinova，近期在越南南部開設一座全新的電動自行車馬達廠。Motinova Technology Company Ltd總裁Daniel Liu在開幕儀式中表示：「自從歐盟和美國對中國製電動自行車徵收額外進口稅之後，我們的產業正面臨嚴峻的挑戰。在得知正式宣佈實施反傾銷措施之後，我們便決定在海外建造一座生產廠。」

荷蘭，杜廷赫姆（Doetinchem）－電動自行車現在引領歐洲自行車市場是大家都知道的，較少為人知、同時必須被注意的是未來需求量會如何變化。Bike Europe和許多內部消息人士進行交談以更深入了這部分。得出的結論是，市場將在未來五年內三倍成長，這還只是保守估計。

德國，福吉沙芬（Friedrichshafen）－美國的電動自行車現正越來越火熱，截至今年八月，銷售數量增加了近28%、市值漲了51%。儘管市場有成長，但是相較歐洲的發展還是差距甚遠，造成這現象主因是法規和規範不夠完善。不過這點現在正逐漸改善，因為有越來越多州別開始落實法規，3個種類分級分別是電動自行車、電動登山車和高速電動輔助自行車。
