    Piaggio Group reports sales down-turn despite Italian e-bike boom

    PONTEDERA, Italy - Italian two-wheeler and commercial vehicle supplier, the Piaggio Group has reported consolidated net sales of around €1.31 billion in fiscal 2020, down 13.6% year-on-year. The "disappointing" sales are attributed to corona-related closures and not profiting from the following peak.

    Shimano launches EP8 e-bike system, but availability unconfirmed

    EINDHOVEN, the Netherlands - Shimano's second-generation e-MTB system comes with a full line of features. The component manufacturer targets the EP8 for a wide range including premium mountain biking and competition racing to trail riding, cross-country, casual MTB, trekking and off-road adventuring.     IDSTEIN, Germany - Storck Bicycle GmbH celebrating its 25th anniversary this year took a new 50% shareholder on board. Company founder and managing director Markus Storck sold 25% of his shares to investor Stefan Lohwasser. He also acquired Decathlon's 25% share in Storck Bicycle.

    Wiggle Posts Heavy Loss Despite Impressive Sales

    CORK, Ireland - Mapil Topco, owner of internet only giant WiggleCRC, has posted a pre-tax loss of GBP 132.5 million (€ 157m) for the trading period of the 52 weeks to December 30th 2018. The suffered loss is despite the fact that sales at the group rose 15 percent to GBP 453 million (€ 537m) with underlying profits of GBP 14.2 million (€ 16.8m).
