Leader 96 Ltd has officially opened its new warehouse - designated for storage of e-bikes - on March 1st, 2021. The facility is situated near the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, next to Leader's second factory, that was completed in 2017. The new warehouse has total area of 4,600 square meters and can store up to 18,000 e-bikes.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - In contrast to the e-bike imports into the European Union, bicycle imports declined during the period January - November 2020 compared with 2019. The number of imported bicycles went down by 3.8% from 4,452,823 units in the first 11 months of 2019 to 4,283,620 units in the same period last year.

LONDON, UK - Folding bike manufacturer, Brompton, warns that the recent 6% price increase may not be enough to offset escalating overheads. LONDON, UK - To improve its growing EU customer base, Gocycle has announced the opening of its new European subsidiary. The Netherlands-based subsidiary will include localised EU-wide fulfilment from a central distribution center in Germany. FÜRTH, Germany - German Uvex Sports Group has acquired a majority stake in British Hiplok maker, Plus 8 Industries Limited. The historical French brand 'Cycles Mercier', created in 1919 by Emile Mercier in Saint-Etienne, is starting on a new adventure. The owner, Starship Investments, has announced the restart of the production of Mercier branded bicycles in France.

MATTIGHOFEN, Austria - Over the past two years KTM Bicycles already invested in a new production and logistics hall. Eyeing the market outlook of rapid sales increases for the next few years, KTM Bicycles has decided to build three additional halls this year.

AACHEN, Germany - The booming e-bike market has led to a growing demand for butted spokes which offer extra strength. This has led German machinery manufacturer, Aachener Maschinenbau GmbH (AMBA), to develop a new gauge reducing machine which can achieve throughputs of up to 40 pieces per minute in spoke blank production. This is many times over the rates achievable by conventional machines.
