    Cult brand Govecs Group joins graveyard of insolvent German mobility companies

    MUNICH, Germany - Govecs Group, the Munich-based company behind the leading two-wheeler e-mobility solution, has filed for insolvency at the Munich District Court. Despite the supplier's recent production line opening in Poland and its strategic pivot to focus on its retro eSchwalbe moped brand, the company appears unable to sustain itself through 2026.

    France's e-scooter market sees third straight year of decline

    PARIS, France - The electric scooter market in France is continuing its downward spiral. According to the eighth edition of the Micromobility Market Barometer, co-published by Mobilians and Smart Mobility Lab, 2024 marks the third consecutive year of decline for motorised personal mobility devices (EDPMs), a segment overwhelmingly dominated by electric scooters.

    Italy restricts the usage of e-scooters

    ROME. Italy - The micro mobility market in Italy will have to adjust to a series of restrictions as part of the mandatory new highway code. These include the usage of a helmet, but also a mandatory license plate and insurance. These restraints are a new setback for this highly popular micro mobility product, although Italy is certainly not the first country in Europe which restricts the use of e-scooters.

    Äike starts renewable e-scooter production in Estonia

    TALLINN, Estonia - The co-founder of IoT provider Comodule, Kristjan Maruste is the CEO of the newly founded sustainable e-scooter startup Äike. In partnership both companies developed the first model Äike T e-scooter with the aim to manufacture and assemble it entirely in Europe using solely renewable energy.
