From September 9–14, IAA Mobility 2025 will transform Munich into a living showcase of future mobility. On the exhibition grounds of Messe München, industry leaders will gather to explore and discuss tomorrow's mobility solutions with professionals. In downtown Munich the IAA Open Space will open. This space is freely accessible to both professionals and the general public.
A global platform for all forms of mobility
For the third time since 2021 and 2023, the city will become a unique mobility festival. Under the theme “It’s All About Mobility,” the organisers invite leading figures from the automotive, cycling, tech, and start-up sectors to present and discuss connected, sustainable, and innovative solutions—both at Messe München and in the heart of the city.
IAA Mobility continues the path it set out on in 2021—and successfully advanced in 2023. The previous edition attracted more than 500,000 visitors from 109 countries, who came to witness innovations from over 750 exhibitors. The 2025 edition aims to build on that momentum.
This year, leading automotive manufacturers will be joined by top suppliers, tech pioneers, and cycling brands to highlight breakthrough, climate-friendly technologies for cars, bikes, roads, and rail. Participants include Volkswagen, BMW, Bosch, BYD, CATL, Continental, Ford, Google, Hyundai, Mercedes, Mobileye, Kia, Qualcomm, Riese & Müller, Samsung, ZF—and many more.
Focus on cycling and micromobility
Cycling and micromobility will once again take center stage alongside automotive and tech topics. As part of the IAA Conference, more than 500 speakers from the worlds of mobility, technology, infrastructure, politics, and business will explore the future of mobility through more than 200 keynotes and panels.
One of the key highlights will be the Cycling Afternoon on Wednesday, September 10 in the Yellow Forum. Starting at 2:15 p.m., the sessions will focus on the bicycle as a key economic driver, innovation catalyst, and essential pillar of sustainable mobility.

Panels for the cycling industry
Several panels will delve into critical topics for the cycling sector:
- “Shared challenges for the bicycle and automotive industries” will explore where the two sectors intersect, emphasizing collaboration opportunities in sustainable transport, innovation, and infrastructure.
- “Investing in the cycling industry” will dive into financing opportunities, emerging trends, and government programs that are fueling growth in this vital sector of green mobility.
- “The economic value of sustainable mobility” will address the broader economic impact of climate-friendly mobility. Topics range from industry transformation and job creation to ecosystem effects and business opportunities.
Featured speakers include industry thought leaders such as Ulrich Prediger (founder of JobRad), Dr. Sandra Wolf (CEO of Riese & Müller), Christina Diem Puello (CEO of Deutsche Dienstrad), and Wasilis von Rauch (CEO of Zukunft Fahrrad).
Cycling & Micromobility Area
Bike and micromobility enthusiasts will find plenty to experience in the open-access IAA Open Space. Located at the northern end of Ludwigstraße, the Cycling & Micromobility Area invites visitors to test the latest models — from cargo bikes to e-bikes and e-scooters. A specially designed test track will replicate real-world surfaces and obstacles such as cobblestones, curbs, gravel, sharp turns, and acceleration zones. A standout feature is the test track in the English Garden — a scenic four-kilometer loop.

Family Trail, live performances & Citizens Lab
Families and younger visitors are also catered for. The Family Trail features interactive stations and play-based test areas where children can explore the mobility of the future. A stage near the Siegestor will host live performances and themed programming focused on careers, families, and the next generation. And at the Citizens Lab on Marienplatz, visitors will have the opportunity to contribute their ideas and visions for the future of urban mobility in dialogue with experts from politics, science, and industry.
More special events
IAA Mobility 2025 will also feature a wide range of special events—including the World New Energy Vehicle Congress from China and an event hosted by E.ON. For the first time, Munich will also host a Festival of Lights during IAA Mobility, illuminating iconic landmarks and public spaces throughout the city.
