Innovation and sustainability: discover the future of mobility in Munich

As the world's leading platform for future mobility, a global meeting point for top international stakeholders and visionaries, and an immersive experience for mobility enthusiasts from around the world, IAA Mobility 2025 will once again transform Munich into a one-of-a-kind mobility festival from September 9 to 14, 2025.

Under the motto “It’s All About Mobility,” the event invites industry leaders, technology pioneers, and companies from the automotive, cycling, tech, and start-up sectors to showcase and discuss sustainable, connected, and groundbreaking mobility solutions—both at the exhibition grounds of Messe München and in the heart of Munich’s city center.

Global platform for all forms of mobility

In addition to automotive and technology highlights, cycling and micromobility will once again play a central role. Especially at the combined Cycling & Micromobility Area on Ludwigstrasse, just before the Siegestor in downtown Munich. Visitors will have the chance to try out every form of urban mobility—from cargo bikes and e-bikes to scooters. On Wednesday, September 10, the Yellow Forum at Messe München will host a special Cycling Afternoon as part of the conference program, starting at 2:15 p.m. The full program is available on the IAA Mobility website.

Social and political context

Four main formats define the event. The IAA Summit, taking place September 9–12, 2025 at Messe München, will bring together companies from across the mobility spectrum to present their latest products, innovations, and breakthroughs to a professional audience. This year’s focus topics include software-defined vehicles, connectivity, IoT & big data, autonomous driving, decarbonization, battery technology, and smart city mobility.

The IAA Conference will feature more than 500 speakers delivering keynotes across two main stages.

Integrated into the exhibition area, the IAA Conference will feature more than 500 speakers delivering over 200 keynotes across two main stages (main stage and summit stage) and three interactive forums. Leading voices such as Ola Källenius (Mercedes-Benz), Dr. Stefan Hartung (Bosch), Chrissy Taylor (Enterprise Mobility), Dr. Sandra Wolf (Riese & Müller) and Dr. Richard Lutz (Deutsche Bahn) will share their perspectives on the diverse future of mobility.

Bringing the future of mobility to life

Free and open to the public, the IAA Open Space in downtown Munich will offer a festival-like atmosphere. This event space blends innovation, entertainment, and hands-on experiences, while giving visitors the chance to engage directly with companies. From Marienplatz and Odeonsplatz to Königsplatz, Max-Joseph-Platz, Wittelsbacher Platz, Ludwigstrasse, and the Residenzhöfe—mobility fans can discover new ideas and trends shaping the future of transportation.

A special highlight will be the Family Trail, where interactive stations and test opportunities will let children explore tomorrow’s mobility in a playful way. At the Siegestor stage, visitors can enjoy live performances and themed days focusing on careers, families, and the young generation. In the Citizens Lab at Marienplatz, the public can share ideas and visions for future urban mobility in direct dialogue with experts from politics, business, and academia.

The IAA Experience will serve as the event’s hands-on format, offering visitors the opportunity to test drive 226 vehicles from 22 exhibitors. In the Cycling & Micromobility Area on Ludwigstrasse, visitors can try out e-bikes and bicycles on a course designed to mimic real-world traffic conditions. The cycling test track in the English Garden will provide a scenic four-kilometer loop for test rides in a natural setting.

More to discover in the city

This year’s edition will also host numerous special events, including the leading Chinese World New Energy Vehicle Congress and an event organized by E.ON. For the first time, the Festival of Lights Munich will illuminate landmark buildings, monuments, and squares across the city center as part of the mobility event.

Tickets to the future of mobility

Ticket sales for IAA Mobility 2025 are already underway. Trade visitor tickets for the IAA Summit, including access to the IAA Conference, are available on the website. Admission to the IAA Open Space in the city center is free for all visitors.
