After the performance boost, the top-of-the-range Drive³ Peak drive unit offers a maximum output of 800 watts and 105 Newton meters of torque, with an assistance factor of up to 600 percent. The Drive³ Power, developed for less demanding applications, delivers up to 700 watts with a maximum torque of
90 Newton meters and 410 percent assistance thanks to the update.
Free over-the-air update available
All drives produced after the upgrade’s launch date will be equipped with these performance specifications ex works. For models that have already been delivered, there is a free over-the-air update that dealers or end customers can easily install using the app.
“With this update, Qore is now one of the very best e-bike systems currently available,” says Daniel Wolde-Giorgis, head of Yamaha Motor eBike Systems. “However, when developing the system, it was important to us from the outset to impress not only with bare figures, but also with versatility, user-friendliness, and connectivity. The result is an innovative system that can be customised without restriction.”
Maximum flexibility for manufacturers
With its two motor models, Qore covers all e-bike applications and price categories. Both versions feature Eco, Tour, Sport, One Mode (support is automatically adjusted to the riding situation), and Boost assistance levels. The Drive³ Peak also offers Punch Mode, which instantly unleashes the full power of the drive – perfect for uphill riding. With the Drive³ Power, the maximum torque can be set to lower values to enable the widest possible range of applications with hub gears in the cargo, SUV, and trekking sectors.
The novel cable harness concept creates an innovative architecture that makes the system scalable and modular as desired”
“But it’s not just the drive units that contribute to the exceptional versatility of the product family,” explains Wolde-Giorgis. “The novel cable harness concept creates an innovative architecture that makes the system scalable and modular as desired. This enables manufacturers to realise their own personal e-bike vision in terms of category, equipment level, and price point. This flexibility is also achieved through the variable and smooth integration of certified third-party components, e.g., ABS systems, electronic gear shifts, IoT modules, or GPS trackers.”
New system architecture
Particularly important for manufacturers, dealers, and end customers: Qore’s design also forms the basis for reliable service. The system can be read in detail at every stage – during the construction of the e-bike, during diagnosis at the specialist dealer, and via the end customer app. This guarantees fast and uncomplicated troubleshooting for core components and integrated third-party parts.
Available at the turn of the year
From the end of the year, a wide variety of e-bike models from Waldbike and Campus with Qore will be available in specialist stores.
