COTATI, US - Yuba Bikes, the US producer of cargo bikes has introduced a new e-cargo bike to the market, the Kombi E5. This model is the electrification of its top-selling model the Kombi, which was introduced last year. The e-cargo bike will be available in European dealerships from April.

ANKARA, Turkey - European demand for Turkish e-bikes quadrupled in 2020, according to data of the Aegean Exporters' Association. The export value of e-bikes manufactured in Turkey in 2020 reached €32.6 million compared to €7.5 million in 2019, particularly from Accell Group's Turkish subsidiary, Accell Bisiklet.

AACHEN, Germany - The booming e-bike market has led to a growing demand for butted spokes which offer extra strength. This has led German machinery manufacturer, Aachener Maschinenbau GmbH (AMBA), to develop a new gauge reducing machine which can achieve throughputs of up to 40 pieces per minute in spoke blank production. This is many times over the rates achievable by conventional machines.

MONTREAL, Canada - Premium bike manufacturer, Argon 18, has established a new European headquarters in Lynge, Denmark. By merging operations with United Cycling, formerly Argon 18's official distributor in Scandinavia, Argon 18 Europe has been created. The European headquarters will offer a centralised distribution, warehousing and a customer service hub to better serve international partners.
AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands - enviolo has announced that industry veteran and former CEO of Derby Cycle, Mathias Seidler, has joined the company's board of directors. He took up the position in December 2020.
SUZHOU, China- Bafang has developed a Dealer Direct Service concept for bicycle manufacturers who use its complete e-bike drive system. This will be launched step by step from February; first within the Netherlands for several selected brands, followed by a phased roll-out across the whole of Europe.
STOCKHOLM, Sweden - European micro-mobility operator, Voi, is collaborating with Bumblebee Power, a spin-out company from Imperial College London on testing trials of technology that enables efficient wireless power transfer for micro-mobility vehicles, including e-scooters and e-bikes.
