    Giant's revenue hurt by Taiwan dollar currency fluctuations in the first half of 2025 

    TAICHUNG, Taiwan - The consolidated revenue of Giant Group reached NT$32.61 billion (€940 million), a 12.4% year-over-year decline. According to Giant Group, this was "primarily due to the appreciation of the New Taiwan Dollar." Between April and July, the New Taiwan Dollar strengthened by 12.17% against the United States Dollar, while the value was rather stable from January to April.

    Fox Factory reports double-digit growth in bicycle segment despite tariff difficulties

    DULUTH, United States - American component manufacturer Fox Factory Holding Corp. is reporting strong results for its 2025 second-quarter sales, a growth spurt it's attributing to the stabilising bicycle industry. Sales are doing especially well in the company's Specialty Sports Group division, home to its bicycle and e-bike product lines, including Fox, Marzocchi, RaceFace, Easton and Ride Concepts.

    Canyon revenue slide 5% in first half of 2025

    KOBLENZ, Germany - The ongoing challenging market environment marked by oversupply and aggressive discounting, especially in electric and non-electric mountain as well as urban bikes, impacted the revenues and profitability of Canyon Bicycles. Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (GBL) reported a 5% drop in revenue to € 398 million and a net profit (EBITDA) of -30%.

    Romanian manufacturer Eurosport DHS sees revenue plunge by 50% again 

    DEVA, Romania - Bicycle manufacturer Eurosport DHS is struggling with the current market situation. The company reported a 48.5% year-on-year decline in turnover to RON 119.5 million (€24 million) for 2024. While the country was once regarded as a leading production location for the bicycle industry in Europe, it has been hit unevenly hard by the current industry crisis.

    TÜBINGEN, Germany — A speed-pedelec experiment in southern Germany has yielded promising results, but findings also show that key barriers to adoption remain. The experiment was conducted by researchers at RheinMain and Darmstadt universities and sponsored by Allianz Zukunft S-Pedelec, a coalition of speed-pedelec manufacturers - including myStromer, Klever Mobility, Riese & Müller and HP Velotechnik.

    Bangladesh bicycle exports see revival after two years of decline

    DHAKA, Bangladesh - The bicycle industry in Bangladesh is quickly recovering from a major slump in exports. In the last fiscal year from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, the export value of bicycles increased by 41% from $83 million (€71.9 million) in 2023/2024 to $117 million (€101.3 million) last year. This data was released recently by the country's Export Promotion Bureau.
