    J&P Italia launches Reebok E-Mobility at Ispo Munich

    MUNICH, Germany - Following this year's soft launch at the world's largest consumer electronics and household appliances trade fair IFA 2023 in Berlin in September, Reebok E-Mobility celebrated its official launch with a large booth at Ispo Munich 2023. Amongst the company's products is a range of 'Assembled in Europe' e-bikes.

    Erhard Büchel re-elected as president of CONEBI

    Regulation required to ban unsafe e-bike battery chargers and conversion kits

    LONDON, UK - Quality issues with e-bike battery chargers have caused reasons for concern in the UK but also in EU countries. One of the largest online sellers of e-bike chargers and conversion kits, Wish.com has banned the sales of the products citing safety risks. Yet there are serious concerns about the enforcement of the new policy.

    German industry association ZIV launches European speed pedelec study

    BERLIN, Germany - Europe-wide regulations and experiences for speed pedelecs vary per country. The Dutch mobility consultancy Mobycon and German industry association ZIV have now made a first comparative study on this market in in Germany, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

    Small silver lining for Halfords as cycling division underperforms

    REDDITCH, England - Alongside mainland Europe, bike sales in the UK have taken a market-adjusting dip this year. Retail giant Halford has reported that sales in its cycling division have been "challenging and below expectations due to the well documented consumer environment." However, bicycle sales are still 'ahead of the market', the company's interim results for the first half of the financial year reports.

    Rising e-bike thefts prompts new market entrants and products

    ZEIST, The Netherlands - The combination of a growing demand, an increasing average retail price and rising e-bike thefts have given a boost to the market of digital anti-theft devices. The use of a single rear wheel lock is no longer considered sufficient. Although official statistics on the number of e-bikes stolen is not available in many countries, enhanced anti-theft devices is regarded as essential.
