    Domestic automotive giants make debut at Japanese e-mobility event

    TOKYO-SHINJUKU, Japan - Nine years ago, a local event in the vibrant Tokyo district of Shinjuku started out as a bicycle festival for end-consumers. Over the years it blossomed into a pure B2B event for urban e-mobility. This year's Bicycle-E Mobility City Expo, which ran from 5 to 6 June, also featured two heavyweights from the domestic automotive industry as exhibitors for the first time.

    Honda enters e-bike market with not such an exciting design

    MINATO, Japan - As an automotive giant, Honda Motor is not known as the most advanced company in the market for electric mobility. It is striking to see the absence of any vision in the design of the product, while the company is focused on 'future mobility'. Honda's entrance on the e-bike market was not very striking.

    EU Safety Standard for 'Segway's' To Come

    BRUSSELS, Belgium - At the initiative of France, a voluntary standard will provide safety requirements for personal light electric vehicles (PLEV) in 2016. A framework dealing with their use will also be developed for these new modes of urban mobility; the Segway likes.
