    Is gender equity attainable in the bicycle industry (by 2030)?

    PARIS, France - This was the question looking to be answered at the recently held Summit Series in Paris, supported by CIE's Women in Cycling expert group. The event, focusing on the retention and recruitment of women in the bicycle industry, hoped to 'lead the change' in correcting the current imbalance in the sector. With cross-spectrum representatives from industry and academia present, the conclusion was that progress is slow, and opportunities are being missed.

    SRAM acquires Italian component manufacturer

    CHICAGO, USA - During the process of drivetrain development in an attempt to make descending better, SRAM came across the spider manufacturer Ochain. "After we learned about the performance of their product, we decided to buy them," explains SRAM product manager Flynn George. How much SRAM paid for Ochain is unknown for the moment.

    SRAM and Velo partner to turn carbon waste into saddles

    TAICHUNG, Taiwan - In a circular economy it is often a challenge to find a new purpose or customers for recyclable waste. ZIPP owner SRAM had been looking for a source of the waste which comes from the production of its carbon components, including wheelsets, handlebars, stems and seat posts. This issue was addressed through their collaboration with Velo.

    Not just SRAM, service is the focus of Spanish wholesaler Team Bike

    ELCHE, Spain - Team Bike S.L. is not only one of the largest and most important bicycle product wholesalers and importers on the Spanish market, but also the entire Iberian peninsula. During a visit to the 3,000 square meter company headquartered in Elche, Bike Europe learned that it has much more to offer than the in-house SRAM Iberia Tech Center and being the former birthplace of the offroad premium brand Mondraker.
