The deal presents brand Licensing rights for Ridley for India and the South East Asian countries of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmarfor a period of 33 years.

The company says to be in the midst of forging strategic alliances with number of European companies and is at Eurobike for more brand buyouts and possible technical joint ventures. All this must ultimately lead to a full-fledged production base in Europe.

LUDHIANA, India - Other news on Hero is that one of its founders passed away; India's 'Cycle Man' Om Prakash Munjal. Chairman Emeritus of Hero Cycles and the Hero Group, passed away after a brief illness on August 13.
