    'Do not introduce e-bike type approval' TRL recommends to European Commission

    BRUSSELS, Belgium - In a joint statement CONEBI, CIE and ECF welcomed the recommendations made in the study on the e-bike and e-cargo bike sector. TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) carried out the study on behalf of the European Commission on the safety of Personal Mobility Devices (PMD).

    Two-wheeler quartet form swappable batteries consortium

    PONTEDERA, Italy - Italian two-wheeler supplier, Piaggio Group has joined forces with motorcycle and light electric vehicle (LEVs) giants Honda Motor Co, Yamaha Motor Co, and KTM, owned by Pierer Mobility and signed a letter of intent to set up a Swappable Batteries Consortium for motorcycles and LEVs. To enrich the expertise of the consortium, the founding quartet encourages all interested stakeholders to join the new cooperation.

    Five delivers e-bikes to support Italian Red Cross Covid relief

    AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - The e-bike is being massively embraced in the Netherlands and its market share continues to expand. In 2020 e-bike sales increased by no less than 30% to a record number of 547,000 units. In value the market has reached the all-time high of €1.65 billion.

    Dorel reports: supply chain constraints limited 2020 results

    MONTREAL, Canada - Dorel Industries Inc. announces boosting sales results for its Sports division (including Cannondale, Schwinn, GT, Mongoose, Pacific Cycles and Caloi) in 2020. For the year, Dorel Sports' revenue increased by $135.7 million, or 14.9%, to $1,045 million and a gross profit of $230 million.
