TAIPEI, Taiwan - High-end frame builder Astro Tech isn't only investing in satellite production in Vietnam. At this year's Taipei Cycle Show Astro Tech Co. Ltd. general manager Samuel Hu confirmed to Bike Europe that his company is currently constructing a new building in Changhua, Taiwan. Here, mass production of carbon frames will take place alongside automated aluminium frame production.

The industry is seeking government support to achieve this goal. Local producers are also keen on meeting the new European bicycle safety standards which are expected to be rolled out shortly.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Bicycle component manufacturing close to the market in Europe has long been a difficult part of the process of production reshoring. While the increase in assembly of bicycles and e-bikes in Europe started already some years ago, parts and accessories seeming to be making the same steps now. According to CONEBI, parts and accessories production value hiked by 33% to €4.8 billion, from €3.6 billion in 2021.

MADRID, Spain - At the start of the cycling season, the Spanish bicycle production increase came as a full surprise. In line with the high inventory in the market, production volumes decreased in the past month.

AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - KwikFit is set to play an important role in VanMoof's service network in the Netherlands as an official certified service partner.
