    HELSINKI, Finland - The Finnish bike sector may face a serious stagnation and decline of sales this year due to the national government's recent decision to abolish the tax benefit for companies' bicycles beginning in 2026.

    Revonte CEO on why their drive system failed in a thriving e-bike market

    TAMPERE, Finland - E-bike drive system brand Revonte was forced to file for bankruptcy one year ago. Since the launch of the product 5 years earlier, the company received a lot of positive feedback from industry peers. OEM's welcomed the Revonte ONE as the next generation drive system for e-bikes. Still Revonte didn't make it, even while the e-bike market was thriving. For the first time, co-founder and former CEO Otto Chrons shares his Revonte story and the lessons learned.

    Finnish e-bike leasing service secures €15 million for international growth

    HELSINKI, Finland - Vapaus Bikes Finland Oy, has secured a €15 million loan to drive growth and international expansion in the employee benefit bikes sector. Besides scaling up in Finland and Sweden, further internationalisation is being considered. Boasting a mature and scalable business model, the mobility service provider has seen its net revenues rise from €4.5 million in 2021 to over €30 million in 2023.

    E-bike drive maker Revonte files for bankruptcy, selling its IP

    TAMPERE, Finland - Manufacturer of the Revonte One e-bike drive system with integrated, automatic stepless transmission filed for bankruptcy at the end of September. After successfully starting the production of the system and making the first customer deliveries, the company was not able to secure further funding in a very difficult market situation.
