ZF presented its new 48-volt drive system for e-bikes for the first time at Eurobike 2024. At the heart of this system is the compact, powerful mid-motor: ZF CentriX. The ZF e-motor, featuring a strain wave gear and external rotor, delivers a powerful torque of 90 Newton meters, all within the installation space typically reserved for light-assist motors. The battery, user interface and cloud connectivity complete the drive system.

ANNECY, France - In line with its product portfolio the French manufacturer Mavic has developed a mid-motor targeted at the road bike market. According to Mavic, the product is fully engineered and ready for mass production. During a recent media event Mavic's promise was confirmed. However, the French family company lacks the resources to take the product to market.

SUZHOU, China - Following the launch of the CMT03 a couple of years ago, e-bike motor manufacturer, Shengyi was back at Eurobike this year with 2 new additions, CMT07 and CMT03P.

SHENZHEN, China - Topband, the Chinese manufacturer of controllers, motors and lithium batteries for a range of industries is entering the e-bike mid-motor market for the first time. Building up from batteries to a complete e-bike drive system offering, the company displayed its new lightweight motor at Eurobike.

Suzhou, China - E-bike drive system manufacturer, Bafang, has introduced its new M510 mid-motor, the successor to the M500. Designed to be stronger and lighter, the mid-motor is geared towards the e-MTB market. Due to in-house component sourcing, Bafang states that the motor has a delivery time of 60-90 days.

IWATA, Japan - A total of €2.5 million will be invested by Yamaha Motor and Hero Motors to open a facility for the production of e-bike mid-motors. The two companies announced this after signing a joint venture agreement.
