Changing market conditions and new European Union regulations have opened the door for tyre specialist Dmack to repurpose the former Nokian tyre facility in Finland. Bicycle tyre production had largely shifted from Europe to the Far East in recent decades. The cost of labour, environmental regulations and proximity to rubber sources made it more efficient to operate these factories in Asia. According to Dmack owner Dick Cormack, times have changed. "I have made it my personal mission to put this factory back on the map and build up production in Europe with high-quality products. That's our mission over the next five years."

Initially, for both Axa Bike and its owner Allegion, the Netherlands was not the most obvious choice to establish the new facility. TALLINN, Estonia - Vok Bikes has secured a new production line at the Refactory plant of Renault Group to scale the manufacturing of its next-generation electric commercial cargo bikes. Starting in 2026, mass production of Vok Bikes will take place at the car maker's plant in Flins, France, which is its flagship circular economy and sustainable manufacturing hub.

MADRID, Spain - Following a slow start to the year, bicycle production is set to decline in Spain in 2025. The country produced a total of almost 220,000 bicycles in the first nine months of 2025, a 10% drop compared to the same period last year. Totalling €179 million in value, this represents a considerable decline, according to official data published by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. The data for Q3, however, shows the most promising signs of a revival.
