MILAN, Italy - The character of the Italian industry show EICMA has changed considerably over the past few years. The bicycle industry returned to this Milan based event six years ago thanks to the e-bike. This year the motorbike industry has clearly embraced the promising market of e-bikes while the bicycle industry itself was almost absent this year, with some exceptions.
TAICHUNG, Taiwan - Giant Group's net sales reached NT$70.8 billion (€2.2 billion) in the first three fiscal quarters of 2022, a 14.5% increase over the same period last year. But in a letter-to-the-editor, Tom Schiller, co-founder of e-bike manufacturer Mokumono notes: "e-bikes have a sustainability problem. To solve it, we need to re-evaluate how bikes are designed."
LA FLECHE, France - E-bike manufacturer Neomouv is pushing forward to increase its market share in France, but also in some European countries like Belgium, Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom. After a funding round raised €4 million in January to ensure its growth, the company has hired a new sales manager and developed its own motor, the Neoassist 2.
WELS, Austria - Pierer Mobility AG expanded its motorcycle activities last September when its subsidiary KTM AG took over MV Agusta Motor SpA's exclusive motorcycle distribution in North America. The cooperation between the two European motorcycle and e-bike suppliers is being strategically intensified again, with KTM AG also taking a 25.1% stake in MV Agusta.

BRAGA, Portugal - Bosch has announced that it will start to extend its R&D and production capacities in existing Portuguese facilities in Ovar and Braga. According to Portuguese media reports, the project involves a total investment of €6.5 million.
MUNICH, Germany - On September 5th, 2023, the second edition of IAA Mobility will kick off in Munich. With a focus on sustainable and intelligently connected mobility solutions, the new motto for the event is 'Experience Connected Mobility'. The organisers have also adjusted the concept based on the response they received following the inaugural 2021 event.
ZWICKAU, Germany - Hong Kong-based electronic components giant Johnson Electric Holdings Limited is taking over an 80% majority stake in German drive system manufacturer, Pendix GmbH. Together, they will develop a new integrated mid-motor for bicycle manufacturers that will be launched in 2025.
