As owner of brands like Ridley Bikes and Eddy Merckx the company wrote a 'book of promises' for current and future retail partners to clarify this new strategy.

    Giant Group acquires Stages Cycling

    TAICHUNG, Taiwan - Giant Group has announced the takeover of Stages Cycling from its owner companies, some of which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in June. Giant Group's US subsidiary, SPIA Cycling Inc. finally got hold of Stages Cycling with a winning bid of US$20.1 million (€18 million).

    Criminal investigation into Babboe comes to an end

    AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands - The Public Prosecution Service in the Netherlands has decided to discontinue its criminal investigation into cargobike manufacturer Babboe B.V. The company was suspected of producing and marketing certain types of (electric) cargo bikes that allegedly had safety issues.

This was also the case between Miranda and FSA that started in 2018 with a letter from the Portuguese component manufacturer to the German importer Advanced Sports.     Vogue cargobikes sales halted after safety fears force recall

    AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands - Europe Cycle Company B.V. (ECC), the manufacturer of Vogue cargo bikes, must immediately stop the sale of all its cargo bikes, the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) has determined. The company must also recall cargo bikes that pose a serious safety risk.

    UK now also examining anti-dumping duties on bicycles from China

    LONDON, UK - The anti-dumping duty on bicycles and bicycle parts from China in the UK is now also under review. Last May the British Trade Remedies Authority already advised to revoke the anti-dumping duties on China made e-bikes in a preliminary recommendation. In case the same would be suggested for bicycles, it would bring a lot of uncertainty in the UK.
