    Sustainability pulse check: industry and consumers not on the same track

    UTRECHT, the Netherlands - Is attention for sustainability in the cycling industry slowly declining? 75% of industry representatives say their company is taking a strategic approach to climate action, down from 80% last year. At the same time, 85% of the respondents report that reducing climate impacts is part of their product design and development. Over a third of companies have conducted at least one Life Cycle Assessment. This reflects a shift from isolated initiatives to integrating sustainability into core business practices. These are some of the key findings of the 2025 climate action pulse check for the cycling industry.

    Radiate launches Digital Bike Lab to streamline simulation in frame development

    ZURICH, Switzerland - Radiate Engineering & Design AG, the Zurich-based product development expert firm, has launched a new digital service tailored specifically to the bicycle industry. The Digital Bike Lab platform aims to help OEMs and brands identify engineering risks early in the design phase and optimise frame performance before physical prototypes are even built.

    Bosch eBike Systems pulls out of Eurobike 2026, Paul Lange still undecided

    FRANKFURT, Germany - The discussions about the future of the leading bicycle and e-bike industry show Eurobike have reached a new phase with the announcement of Bosch eBike Systems not to exhibit at the 2026 edition. This news came out shortly after the German industry bodies ZIV and Zukunft Fahrrad stated they will end their cooperation with Eurobike and withdraw from Eurobike 2026. Shimano representative Paul Lange & Co. has not taken a final decision yet on their presentation at Eurobike 2026.

    Eurobike doubts from German industry sends trade show landscape further adrift 

    FRANKFURT, Germany - The disruption in the international bicycle industry has also reached the trade show landscape. The Taichung Bike Week experienced its weakest edition in years this September. This was followed by last week's announcement that German industry bodies ZIV and Zukunft Fahrrad will end their cooperation with Eurobike.     EU's anti-dumping duty extension on Chinese bicycles draws mixed reactions

    BRUSSELS, Belgium - The European Commission announced that the European Union will continue to apply the existing import measures, such as import duties or anti-dumping measures on bicycles from China, as there is no valid reason to lift them. To prevent circumvention, the European Commission considers it necessary to apply these duties to all bicycles made in China, plus all shipments from seven countries. A total of 13 bicycle manufacturers across these countries are exempt from this measure.

    ZEIST, the Netherlands - Bicycle rental systems and subscription-based models, like Swapfiets, represent a cycling mobility trend that opened the market for more existing and new cyclists. Until recently, only the number of bicycles out in the streets and the number of users were available.
