    Orbea reports 'strong progress' despite decrease in turnover

    MALLABIA, Spain - The turbulent 2023 market conditions with instability, excess supply and widespread discounting among competitors that deteriorated margins and, in some cases, questioned the sustainability of business, writes Orbea in its annual report. For Orbea the market situation resulted in a 6.4% decrease in turnover.

    MALLABIA, Spain - How deeply bike manufacturer Orbea S. Coop. is rooted in its home country, visitors realise immediately on arrival: the first language is Basque - followed by English. During a visit to the company headquarters and production facility in Mallabia, Bike Europe found out what else sets this Basque bicycle manufacturer apart from its domestic and international competitors.

    Orbea appoints new CEO

    MALLABIA, Spain - After 12 years as CEO of Orbea, Jon Fernandez has announced to step down. Long-term serving at Orbea, Daniel Martínez, will assume the position of CEO, starting next October.

    MALLABIA, Spain - The long-term growth strategy is paying off very well for Orbea. In the past seven years, the cooperative bicycle manufacturer has confirmed notable sales growth which peaked in 2022.

    Orbea tackles future challenges with in-house reorganisation

    MALLABIA, Spain - In 2016, the cooperatively organised bicycle manufacturer Orbea S. Coop. ushered in a growth phase, with the number of employees expanding to around 1,000 worldwide. In these past six years, the brand has made its name not only in Spain and Europe, but globally. Now the Basque cooperative is entering another phase that requires a reorganisation of the business areas.
