BERLIN, Germany - Yamaha Motor has signed an agreement with German automotive parts manufacturer, Brose to acquire its bicycle drive unit (eKit) business subsidiary. This strategic step includes establishing a new company, Yamaha Motor eBike Systems GmbH to expand the business in Europe. The formalisation of the operation is scheduled to be completed by June 2025, subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

OBERWANGEN, Switzerland - Yamaha was the first e-bike brand this month which announced it was pulling out of the US market due to oversupply and slow demand. SAINT QUENTIN, France - In order to supply its European based e-bike manufacturers swiftly and with shorter lead times, Yamaha Motor Europe opened a completely new drive unit assembly line at the factory in Saint Quentin, France. The factory in Saint Quentin is operated by Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Europe. The inauguration took place yesterday.

SAINT QUENTIN, France - Yamaha Motor Europe has announced that its wholly-owned European manufacturing site in Saint Quentin, France, previously known as MBK Industrie (MBK), has been re-named Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Europe or YMME for short. Besides e-bike assembly, YMME will also start to produce drive units for OEM customers in March 2024.

SCHIPHOL, the Netherlands - The former Yamaha Europe Vice-President, Olivier Prévost succeeds Eric de Seynes as President and CEO of Yamaha Europe as of 1 January. Eric de Seynes joins the company's Supervisory Board as Chairman.
