After three years of predicting that next year would be better, industry peers have become cautious in making any forecasts. The Global Bicycle Purchasing Index (GBPI) provides the industry with an indicator that anticipates future trends. This economic indicator gives you insight into the health and trends of the manufacturing and trade sectors.
Who should participate in the survey?
This short survey (approximately 3-5 minutes) is part of a joint initiative by Bike Europe, Eurobike and IFH Cologne. We invite all industry peers, in particular product managers, supply chain managers, purchasing managers and all other industry decision makers, to participate in the survey. Go to the survey here.
Relevance of the purchasing index
For many years, the industry has lacked the data to manage the supply chain efficiently. This information gap at the purchasing level can now be addressed by confidentially sharing essential information on topics such as incoming order levels, inventory levels and your own purchasing levels. Market research agency IFH Cologne will publish the key results and an assessment of the industry’s situation next month.
GBPI puts focus on the impact of the tariffs
In this Global Bicycle Purchasing Index survey, the spotlight is still on tariffs. For many stakeholders across the supply chain, tariff-related trade barriers are becoming increasingly important. This is especially related to production, sourcing and strategic partnerships. This survey, therefore, examines not only how existing tariffs are currently influencing purchasing decisions, but also what developments industry experts expect in the future.
With this additional focus, the GBPI provides even deeper insights into global market dynamics — offering international procurement professionals a valuable benchmark for decision-making in the fast-changing bicycle and micromobility sector.
