For original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), managing diverse product lines create significant supply chain complexity. Adopting a unified drive system platform offers a strategic way to reduce time-to-market, development costs, streamline assembly, and respond dynamically to shifting consumer demands.

Valeo is not a name the bicycle industry traditionally follows closely. For decades, the French group has been a key player in the automotive world, supplying technologies that end up inside millions of vehicles. But as cycling becomes increasingly relevant for urban mobility and logistics, Valeo has entered the e-bike market with a clear message: this is not a trial run, but a long-term strategy.

In the early days of e-bikes, the race was simple: more torque, more watts, more bragging rights. But today, the real battleground is somewhere else entirely, efficiency, intelligence and rider safety.

With the ongoing market correction still affecting purchasing decisions and budgets, and geopolitical uncertainty, including the war-related tensions, derailing international travel, the Taipei Cycle Show 2026 was never expected to be a loud, booming comeback edition.

There are products in the bicycle industry whose quality is widely respected and well known among insiders, even if their name rarely appears in the spotlight. THUN is a prime example of this. But that is about to change.
